Took myself off to Greensburg yesterday. Had no problems knowing which way to turn etc. Think I've got this figured out now. Anyhow, I went crazy at B&N. I was down to two unread books (obviously not counting the permanent library I carry around) and was beginning to get a little twitchy. I had some authors from a Locus article and some that I've tried out and was willing to try again. So, two full shopping bag and a few hundreds of dollars later, I felt much better. Shouldn't have to stock up again before I leave.
Speaking of which, I only have about five more weeks here. Planning to leave around 14 Sept. If all goes well, I'll visit the Wright homes on my way southerly.
Laffoon Chiropractor is on the way to Gburg. He's probably heard all the jokes already.
On one side of me is a 5th wheel seasonal. The family name is Gogo.
On the way back from Gburg, I saw a Classic American Diner (un-huh) and was hungry, so pulled in and ate. It, of course, is not a true diner but a building with a diner front on it and some attempt to make it look diner-ish inside. Anyhow, I had meatloaf with onions and mushrooms, and coleslaw on the side. It was very American and not too bad.
I was pulling out of the parking lot onto the road I'd used to get in, when this big brassy woman yelled at me YOU CAN'T DO THAT, IT'S ONE WAY. Now, she'd stood in the diner parking lot and watched me get in my rig and pull out but waited until I was actually on the road before telling me. So I have to inch my way back down the road, with cars coming at me, until I can make the turn back into the lot which goes across to the road I can turn onto.
Other than that, it was a successful day. I grocery shopped, too. Did forget my list and so forgot to get a few things, but no biggies. Got home here, backed into my space easily, got all hooked up (with the usual seventeen tries to get the tv cable screwed in).
Promptly took a nap.

Resting Up.
I now have two days off in a row, today and tomorrow. Hooray! The left side of the body has been making its displeasure known at having to be the support for the weak right side and its ankle. So it will be good to give everything a rest. My toes now look like toes again, instead of sausages, though they're still purple, and the ankle itself is still a baseball. But it is better.
One commenter said I should give myself a lot of time to adjust, what with all the radical changes in lifestyle I'm going through. Good advice, and I'm trying to do that. One of the things I could do here whilst hobbled was rearrange the "library" (a 3-shelf bookcase), so I did that and it now looks very professional. It doesn't have anything I want to read but I am giving it my books when I'm done. No, not my personal permanent library but the books I buy to have an easy read. I'm reading Kathy Reichs' Break No Bones right now, and have Nora Roberts' The Hollow in waiting as well as Mucho Mojo by Joe Lansdale.
I don't do libraries for two reasons: 1 To take books out you have to have a card which means an address etc. 2 You have to take the books back and in a specified amount of time. But I will do used bookstores (including Goodwill and the like) as well as buying certain new pbs. I did get a couple of hardbacks on a B&N sale table for $5, which I will donate to the library here. The pbs I can keep to trade in at other used bookstores along the road. At least, that's the plan.
When the schedule settles down, I should have three days off in a row more regularly. That's when I'll have time to go see the Wright homes. I'll definitely report on them.
Socially, there's not much to entice me. It's a family-oriented park so there's lot of couples with kids. And there's retiree couples. Of the male workampers, they're nice but not interesting to me on a visceral level. I'll just keep my little mental fantasy of a certain guy going.

Introduction
Hello all,
This is my first ever post on my blog (which I just set up). I'm hoping to keep track of my progress toward going fulltime in RV next spring. I have acquired a 1984 Toyota Odyssey class C, 4 cyl 4-speed stickshift. It's about 22ft bumper to bumper, so downsizing from my 900sf apartment is going to be interesting.
According to the previous owner, the RV runs well (good!) but there's lots to check out and fix before I get on the road. I'm in full research mode on the Web and have found lots of good folk in forums and groups to ask questions of.
I've been a professional bookseller for about 20 years (all used, antiquarian, rare). My specialty is movable books, which includes pop-ups, carousels, tunnels, flaps, grommets, transformations, and more.
I also publish a newsletter about the author Chelsea Quinn Yarbro. I've been doing it for 13 years now, and plan to continue doing it from the RV, wherever I might be.
Other authors of special interest are: Peter O'Donnell, Ross Thomas, and J.D. Robb. Of course, there are many writers I read, just not many I collect. I plan to do some bookscouting from the RV and selling on the Web at Biblio.com (which I do now).
Please feel free to comment. I hope to join a community of like-minded folk. As I said, this is my first blog so I'm a total novice at it. All help and advice appreciated.
Cordially,
Lindig
