Memorial Day

Of course, I thought about my father today, a Master Sgt in the 82nd Airborne in WW II, a glider pilot into Normandy on D-Day, having already been in North Africa and Italy. He won a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, but recovered well and came home to get on with life. One year later, he contracted polio and died when I was 3 and my brother was to be born a month later.

Had a nice time at Gabi and Greg's today, with a feast of fabulous grilled steak, red cabbage slaw, asparagus, etc. Greg came and got me so I wouldn't have to move the rig back and forth. I'll be in their driveway starting tomorrow.
