She'll be missed. Then again, she has been missed for many years. The woman went through the rodeo and became part of the American consciousness. First in the 50's when it was scandalous, then in the 80's when Gay culture took notice.
She had it right. She went into seclusion and refused to be photographed. "...why would they want to look at an old lady? Better to have them remember me when I was in my prime".
She may have gone loco, found God, and more, but in the end, she had it figured out.
